About the painting:
When our oldest daughter, Morgan, was expecting her first child, I wanted to paint something that symbolized the arrival of a new life — a modern take on the “baby stork.” A wood stork felt a little too rough around the edges, so I turned to the beautiful grace and quiet strength of the great blue heron.
That choice felt right from the very first brushstroke… and that’s exactly how this painting Hallie’s Heron was born.
